This is an icon of St Michael, Archangel.
 

It was purchased in Meteora, Greece  in April 2017 and is at least 300 years old.

Its provenance is unknown, but from the state of the icon, it seems to have been through troubled times , and was probably rescued from a church destroyed by fire.
 

Fr Fred was ordained on the Feast of St Michael and All Angels in 1981 (he named his son Michael), and thus he has a special link with this the greatest of the angelic kingdom.  It is housed in his oratory at home.
